I am being told that replacing laptop keys never work like the original keyboard and therefore it would be better if the entire keyboard would be replaced, is this true? If not, how can I go about making sure the replacements fit properly? I had tried replacing laptop keys before but they didn't fit right.
Yes, it is generally best to replace the whole unit.
If not, you will need to find one that has not only the same model but revision number for the keyboard as the keys you want to replace.

Why would the "revision number" be of importance here?
I've seen things like the little 'guides' or indentations around the keys change between revision numbers...things like that. Otherwise they may not properly fit, even though the model is the same.

I've been selling replacement laptop keys for a while now and have not any complaints that the quality is not as good as the originals.
If you do choose to purchase a new keyboard you shouldn't worry too much about the revision, if the keyboard is made for your model it will fit. Laptop manufactuers outsource the manufacture of the keyboards to a number of different companies, and that is why you will see differences in the keyboards, although they look the same, internally they can be completely different but shoudl still fit OK.

I'm not sure if you are allowed to post a link like that, especially since in your only two posts that's what you have done.
I reported this to the moderators to let them decide.

Selling not permitted by house rules without the express written consent of the boss.....
The whole thing is already being dealt with...so everyone, keep your shirts on.
