toolbar question?

I am running windows XP and internet explorer but I'm trying to have my address bar and my favorites icons and all the rest across the top of my screen in the toolbar, I try to go to view but I can only get either my address bar or the favorites icons across the top, can someone please help me, the guy at the computer store had it right for me but I don,t know what happened, I go to view all the time but just can,t figure it out

R-click on an empty space on the toolbar, click on what toolbar you want seen (standard toolbar etc.). You can also click customize and configure what icons and such you want on the toolbar.
