Need advice on peer guardian

This is an application I found that apparently works something like a proxy.
It is called Peer guardian and blocks your IP from been shown on P2P software.
I download torrents for the likes of images and trailers etc.And don't want my IP shown to the world and wouldn't mind using an application like this.
So I thought I would ask the experts whether or not this is a clean application and whether or not I should bother installing it.

I don't use this program (I don't use any P2P programs) but perhaps others have some personal experience to post.

Already read all of that.Was mainly concerned about malware being a part of the program or coming later on.As I said above I only use torrents to download images and trailers so I probably don't even need this.
