View Full Version : Blue screen "stop error"

i get this stop error almost every time i turn on my computer, it happenes more often than before. the error looks like this:
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/3699/25fspjkdq8.jpg i heard that this error is related to the RAM but it might be the hard drive but again im not too sure either so if any one has recomandations or suggestions would be appreciated.
my system: Win XP SP2, AMD64 3200+, Asus K8N-E motherboard, 512(2) DDR, 160gb of hard drive, and ati x800 pro 256 (with latest display driver).

That's almost always a driver problem. Try updating your chipset drivers, then try uninstalling and reinstalling your graphics drivers.

im not too sure how to update my chipset drivers can u explain in detail?

They're the drivers that came with the motherboard and would be on the accompanying CD that came with it.

Go here (http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce3_winxp_5.11) and download the driver (just click on the link that says "Primary Download Site"). Download that file to your desktop and run it. That will update your chipset drivers.

You receive a "STOP: 0x00000050" error message when you try to upgrade to Windows XP Service Pack 2 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/873159/en-us).

There's a million things that can cause that "STOP 0xwhatever" error. If the code is the same every time, then you have your answer. If not, the "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" error is most likely driver related.
