Case Fan

While I was upgrading my motherboard/power supply/vid card, I decided to also install a case fan to help keep things cool (for an extra $1, how could I refuse?). I went to install it and couldn't decide which way to have it blow! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

On my case (ATX) the bracket for the fan is in the bottom front. I decided to have this fan blow into the machine. My reasoning was that the power supply in the back blows air out, and the fan in the front blowing air in would be best to help the current airflow through the machine. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Any opinions on this?

You're right. And to help even more, purchase yet another case fan for the back and have it sucking out air, too.

And get out your handy dremel tool. Add two fans to the side of the case drawing air in from the side. Add a fan to the roof of the case drawing air out.

Couple of 90MM on the side panel and a 120MM on the roof.

Remove a 5 1/4 cover from the bay above the HDD. Insert a triple fan Hdd cooler.

Mount a fan on heatsink of the NorthBridge chip. Add a fan and heatsink to the Southbridge chip.

Add a fan to the heatsink on the video card.

Don't laugh there is a comapny that builds machines taht are basically in a freezer....a very simple rule of thumb 9one that actully works) keep the air floe in the same direction, that means if you have a fan on the rear (PSU) pulling air out of the case the any you add to the front should pull air into the case...
