Good day people.

When playing Uncharted Waters 2, a very old game, on Windows XP, the game would hang whenever I enter a duel with somebody.
The following error message would then pop up:

Memory allocation error
Cannot load COMMAND, system halted

Being a computer idiot that I am, I can't seem to solve the problem. It used to be fine when I played it on Windows 98. The game runs in MS-DOS.

Can somebody please help me with this problem? Any assistance is much appreciated. Thanks.

XP is not DOS-based. Did you try Compatibility mode?

No good. The same error message still comes up.

Then it could very well be a game that won't work in XP...not all programs are able to be run in newer verisons of Windows.

Have you tried it in Win95 or just Win98 mode?

You may also want to limit it...like make sure 640x480 and turn of visual themese for it.

How do I try it in Windows 98 mode? Do I install Windows 98 into my computer? And how do you limit the thing? I can't seem to find the settings you are talking about when I click properties on the game icon.
