Which processor do you think is faster? A Celeron II 950MHz (100FSB), or a Pentium III 866MHz (133)?

A cpu's performance ia a function of clock speed times (X) number of instructions per clock cycle. The Celery is & will always be *ntel's "budget" processor.

It depends on the app, but the P3 should be faster in most things...of course the new "Celerons" (1.13 Ghz and higher) are really the revised P3 core running at a 100mhz FSB...

When all else fails, read the instructions.

I would bet that for practical purposes those 2 processors would be very hard to tell apart. If you benchmarked them the P3 should win by a nose.

Thanks! Finally, I bought a Celeron 950 because it is new, cheaper and I kept my old SDRAMs at 100MHz. I also overclocked at 1.26 GHz, but my system wasn't very stable. So, I reduced the FSB to 112MHz and it just fine now at 1.06 GHz! My 100MHz SDRAMs are overclocked at 112 MHz, but they haven't any problems. My AGP and PCI buses are a little overclocked, but they work fine.
