After starting the change over to Gigabit network hardware
I found out something about the new version of the Linksys EG008W

They ( Linksys) have Two version of this model
One with a fan and stackable and the other fanless and to small to stack with the other units on the network

Go here
http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C1&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1118334622279&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper

then look for the "EG008W"
Yes there are two

The hard part is knowing what model is going to be shipped to you if you buy one online

the only thing online I can find is the version number
The stackable model is version 1
the other little plastic box is version 3

I am now the owner of version 3 :(
But when I ordered it I was shown a photo of version 1 ..

Aside from being the wrong unit.
This is one upgrade well worth the price
Moving large files around at 10/100 is slow.
Compared to the new 1000 :)

Gotta love the bigger throughput on the network.

Love it !! is an understatement

These movies took forever at 10/100
Now 1/10 of that IF XP doesn't get in the way
