It is likely the answer is nowhere since it seems likely that you are asking about SPAMming people and that is not tolerated here, but you can certainly explain if that is not your intention...

As far as I can tell by link exchange he means affiliate.

Unfortunately, I don't know what you are referring to either... Do you mean that he/she would post a link to PCGuide on his/her site in exchange for us posting a link to his/her site?? If so, we really don't do that...

Actually, most link exchanges are poorly veiled attempts to boost someone's search engine rankings by get listed on a popular site in exchange for listing the popular site on their page...

They are very common in blogging circles, where patting one's self on the back and acknowledging what a great intellect one has means that everyone else must value one's opinions and list the site seems to be the rule...

I no longer do link exchanges.. at one point they were a good method of networking sites, but now it is a waste of time. I also have noticed that 90% of the time I put up a link, the other site does, and then a little while later the link to my site is taken down without notice. --c
