I have a question. (Program transfer/copy)

Hi people,

I have Microsoft Words and other relevant applications/programs installed on my laptop (Acer model). Unfortunately, I haven't got their installation cds as these programs were installed to my laptop by an old friend of mine who had the cds. Is there any way I can transfer or copy these applications/programs to my home pc without the requirement of their installation cds? :confused:

Labtop: Windows ME & Pentium III
Home Pc: Windows XP & Pentium III

No...putting aside the fact that you are running pirated copies of them, a program as complex and intertwined with the OS as Word can't simply be transferred to another system. There are too many shared files and registry entries to make such a transfer practical.
