I see they have finally made the Vista beta available to everyone. I have a key, and have dl'd both the 32 & 64 bit versions. I plan to test the OS on a new Conroe pc I am planning to build. But which version should I install, the 32 or the 64? I believe the cpu is capable of 64 bits, but that most other hardware is still 32, correct?

TIA

I would stick with the 32bit for the moment as it will work with less problems with more hardware and software.

Why not try installing the 32 bit, then make an image of it, and then give the 64 bit a try?

From what I have been reading 64bit is a lot more buggy an has more compatability issues than 32bit. If you can/will only try one I would go with the 32bit.

But as mentioned why not try both? When I got my download and keys it said it was good for installs on 10 different PCs. If you are intereested might as well try first hand and see what it works like. BTW Vista comes with a better backup utility (I think they basically stole Ghost) than can make an image of your drive. Then you boot from the DVD and instead of choosing to install you do a recovery from the image.
