Hi there.
:)

When Windows Explorer opens, it defaults to "MY DOCUMENTS", and I never want to start managing my files from there.

I am wondering if it is possible, to make it default somewhere else when it is started...(such as H:\ for example)

I'm using Win XP Pro SP2.

you can create a shortcut to the location or drive you want, then just click that icon instead of the explorer icon.

Bloody hell - that's what I call thinking!!!
:)
Why didn't I think of that?!(rhetorical!)

I had not actually considdered that.
If I right click on the shortcut and select EXPLORE, it opens explorer exactly where I want.
:)

Now, i wonder if it is possible to have the shortcut open automatically in explorer rather then in the MY COMPUTER type of interface I currently get...

In other words, are you trying to open EXPLORER at a particular FOLDER?

If so, a shortcut like
C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE /n,/e,C:\INET
would open explorer and point to the folder INET located on the C drive. Note the space after .EXE and before the /n.

... or use <The Flying Windows Key> + <E> to open the tree with nothing expanded but in Explorer View with a split pane.
