hmm, this ones confusing.... My Philips Go Gear Audio Device worked on my eMachines system for the longest time, then it just stoped, it said it had malfunctioned and so i try it on my windows 98 PC, and blam! it works! Windows XP said there is no driver for the device even though i told it to search the folder which contained the driver, and it came up with nothing... what should i do?

Try to install the driver instead of find the driver in the driver containing folder.

the software that utizes the driver is already installed and has been for a long while, so i dont think that could be it

sometimes inproper Windows installation can bring drivers problems just like yours. I ever seen and tried on a computer just like your problem but the difference is USB had mulfunction for him. The time I did the Windows repairation and everything back to normal...You may try the 'XP-noReformat' procedure.
