Ok, I had the same problem with my dvd/cd player burner, etc. It wouldn't recognize cd's anymore so I did a restore, it still wouldn't so I did a full install, like back to new. It wouldn't install everything so I got a cd burner from my old puter and put it in. It won't run both of them. I have to use one or the other, I tried to piggy back them like I figured it would go, cause it has a plugin for a additional one, but it won't work. I did my complete re-install. Now the fricken thing won't get past the ( Dont turn off your pc till we tell you to, crap. I can still only run one or the other burner but can't even get past the getting you ready stage! So I have 2 problems now. I shut the system off when it asked me to restart or turn off and disconnected the cd burner and connected the origional dvd burner back up thinking maybe it couldn't load drivers to a foreign burner. No luck. I can't get past that stupid screen. Tried rebooting, it takes me to windows and then right back there again. Now what????

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

Not a good idea to piggyback on another's thread. It gets confusing...

I'm splitting yours off and providing a link to the thread you posted in, in case someone desires to see what the similar problem is...

Did you set the jumpers on the burners...one Master and the other Slave?
