I own an older PC built by a local computer stores four to five years ago. It uses EDO Dram. The motherboard has four slots (two banks) for Simm memory sticks. The first two slots are currently occupied by two 8MB, 72-pin, non-parity, 60 ns access time EDO Dram sticks. My processor is described as an Intel 82430FX Pentium by Cyrix, 133 Mhz. I would like to upgrade my memory by 64MB or 128MB. I understand that memory must be installed in pairs.
Do I have enough information to purchase memory online with the reasonable expectation that it will work properly?

The number you gave for the CPU looks more like a chipset number, the processor is probably a Cyrix Pentium clone....if indeed you have the 430FX chipset then do not think about going above 64MB for RAM. Most if, not all, of the 430 series have a problem with larger amounts of memory...they can only cache 64MB, so anything over that severely hinders perfromance. As to the rest...the specs you gave should allow you to get the correct sticks.
