I have recently installed a new graphics card (BFG 7600GS OC 512MB AGP). Everything went fine for two weeks.

Yesterday, I formatted my hard drive, as my system was messed up (nothing to do with vid card). I reinstalled all the drivers afterwards. Now, for the second time, I received a blue screen stop error from Windows, here's what it said:

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBFC8F309, 0XF4A3A124, 0X00000000)

*** nv4_disp.dll - Address BFC8F309 base at BF9D3000, Datestamp 447f8ef8

Both times the stop screen appeared after I tried to open a video file.

One more thing. At first I tried repairing my Widnows installation using the boot from CD option; halfway through, when there were only 12 mins left, the pc froze. After 2 hours of no motion at all, I decided to turn the PC off by pressing the power switch button. I turned it on again and was given the option of choosing the only version of Windows XP I have (so why did it show me that screen then, if I had only one option?). Whenever I pressed enter, it would just restart my PC instead of going to the "Welcome to XP" screen.

So, seeing this, I had no other option but to just format my system and start with a blank slate. I did that. I boot my system. I go to My Computer. I open the D: Drive (I've had my hard disk partitioned before), to which I installed the OS again. Everything's cleaned up. However, when I went to E: Drive, I see everything that I've had before, all the docs, progs, etc. Apparently, somethign went wrong during the "repair" process and it "copied" my OS and all its files into E: Drive while "repairing".

After copying all the files I needed to my D: Drive, I've formatted the E: Drive (because it contained all the corrupt files, etc that I initially wanted to repair and because I just didn't need it anymore now that I had a new, clean install of OS into D: Drive).

But, now, every time the PC boots up, it gives me the option of choosing between two same versions of Windows XP. One of them works and is apparently the last one I installed. The other one is apparently the "repaired" version which I wanted to format and my comp restarts every time I choose it (as it did before).

How do I get rid of that "giving option of choosing which OS to load" screen from showing up? I formatted my E: Drive, so I don't know why it gives me the option of loading the OS. I have only one OS on D: Drive.
