No sound after rebooting

hello, im having great trouble with my sound. i recently rebooted my computer so all icons and backgrounds will be customized etc and since that has happened my sound doesn't work, the speakers are fine its jus no sound comes out at all. can any1 help me? thannks.

Did you check the drivers???, What is your OS???, you gotta give us some info before we can make a logical oppinion about what is wrong

Did you use a third party tool to customize icons, desktop, if so try uninstalling it.
Also check the software setting for the sound card, any changes.

I would suggest uninstalling the soundcard drivers...do so in SAFEMODE and then reboot. Upon reboot Windows should find the "new hardware device" and seek to reinstall the soundcard drivers.

I am assuming that you have the drivers on disk... Select have disk and follow the installation Wizard inserting the disk at the appropriate time...
