a virus model - troll question...

I have read a paper by Chris and Brian of hp about their ideas on virus replication model but I don't know how they come up with such a process.
It is stochastic but predictable one due to pdf estimates, whereas teh virus are born always unpredictable depednding on users'choice of "clicks-to-install".
I am wrong about this ?
