OK everyone. I know that Ntbackup will not let you back up directly to dvdr or cdr drives. And i am pretty sure it possible to back up the .bfk file to a dvdr with a burning program. What if the file is over the the 4.7 and double layer disc size. My backups usually range from 11-15GBs a night. Will the burning program auto divide it to the number of discs that it needs. And if it does will it effect the backup in anyway or do i need to burn it as a bootable disc or just a data dvd? My preferred backup program is Nero for this, however cdburnerpro is good too. Please fill me in.

"Computeractive" magazine is offering a FULL FREE DOWNLOAD of "Acronis True Image 7" HERE (http://www.computeractive.co.uk/acronistrueimage7/index).

Once installed, this will make a bootable CD-RW [or CD-R] disk.
You can load the program from that and make image backups of almost anything [partition/folders/files] to almost anything [IDE, SCSI, Firewire, USB, PC card, CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, Zip, Jaz].
Max file size is 4 GB.
I believe it will split files to fit onto various media, and you can manually choose the size of each part/file, or have it done automatically.
It will burn direct [outside of the Windows environment] to optical disks without the need for some other program.
These can also be made bootable so that the separate bootable disk isn't needed.

The pdf file tells all of this in detail.
