i dont care about size, although bigger would be better. i want a really good monitor so i am willing to pay what is needed. what i want is the best sharpness, crispness, and clarity at high resolutions and refresh rates. cause ive noticed sometimes if you run higher resolutions or refresh rates, the picture quality deteriorates. so i want great picture quality, and still be able to run high refresh rates and resolutions.
does anyone know about any really good monitors that fit these requirements?

Hey fidelus look for a monitor with a real low dot pitch. Usually a .25 the lower the better.

Hey Fideleus,
If money is not a problem, go with a flat screen LCD. May not be the best price in the world but, saw some at CostCo yesterday. 15" $350, 17"$550.
Not going to get any better image quality then that http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif

With all due respect to Diurnal, who has much more hands-on experience with computers than I do, you might want to check this (http://www4.tomshardware.com/display/01q4/011128/crt-02.html) out before you just go with the lowest dot pitch you can find. The rest of the article is a good primer on monitor techology and choosing one to fit your needs.
