I am attempting to transfer old my old casette tapes on a PC. I wonder if anyone can suggest a software programme to do this.

It depends on what you have or if you want to make cd's afterwards.
Many soundcards have the capability as well as good old :rolleyes: Sound Recorder in Windows.
But a popular way to do it is to purchase an add-on card or external usb device to capture video and/or audio in several chooseable formats from avi and wav to the various mp3 and mpegs.
If you have a burner some burner programs can do it such as NERO depending if your sound or video card has the inputs or not.
Basically the only cord you will need is and 1/8" stereo to dual RCA wye cord or you could do it with an adapter type jack.

Hotlink in pic above to Radio Shack, also several capture softs such as MusicmatchJukebox can capture and render your tapes to harddrive then burn to cd's if desired.

A good progran is free audio recorder. Can't remember where I downloaded it, but it works to record Vinyl to CD no problems

[B]Thanks for all your suggestions. I have looked at the windows recorder but have downloaded a copy of Audio Recorder Deluxe and that seems to be a good starting point.

Nero can be downloaded free and tht will convert nefin
