Microsoft periodically issues MVPs to individuals who they believe merit recognition for their efforts.

Unfortunately they recently awarded one to an individual who spreads adware:

What is up with this, they don't know what LOP is?

Edit: MS recinded the MVP on Friday because of the association with C2, after screams from the security community.

If that #$@! #%$# ^$# *^%$ can be nominated, then every single mod here deserves that 'award'...and half the posters.

All I want to know is what bonehead even nominated that j***a**!

(Oh, yes, it IS personal...he and I have words...I think Budfred may remember?)

Sorry, I don't remember, but you were into security stuff long before I was...

MS put him in some other category, but the Security MVPs are the ones who reacted and got him removed... This suggests that they really need to check more carefully before they jump next time... I am also curious about who nominated this pest since I believe all nominations now come from MVPs...
