I know the BIOS readings are pretty unreliable, but I've never seen the system temp higher than the CPU temp. :p It's currently system 36 C, CPU 28 C. Any ideas?

Actually, if you have the latest BIOS version for your mobo, those are the most reliable temp readings of all! The temp sensors are built right into the mobo and the BIOS is calibrated to read them in the best possible way.

If your "system" temp is higher than your idle CPU temp, then you either have a passively cooled chipset or you need more airflow in your case. Your temps are still good, but perhaps an extra fan would bring down that system temp.

Yeah, my chipset is passively cooled. Just thought it was weird cause I've never seen it before. Thanks for the info.

The location of the heat probe may also have a lot to do with it.

Some M/B makers place one near the cpu and other between the ram slots
Other have 2 on board.

With slow or blocked air flow around it
The temps can/will be higher

Check your doc's and find the location
If it is near the memory slots then by all means add another fan to push air into that area.
