I've seen you guys have lots of experience with the whole no boot, no beep problem, but none of the threads already have my exact symptoms, so if I could implore you...

I was cleaning out the dust from the inside of the tower and putting in another stick of ram - and I go to boot up, and there's nothing. No beeps, no video. Thinking my putting the extra ram in screwed something up, I took it back out, and tried to boot up again. Three beeps. I took out the video and original ram stick a few times, as suggested in the sticky thread to clean off any possible oxidisation, made sure they were secure, and tried again. Three beeps. Just to experiment, when I put the original ram in the other [ram] slot, there are no beeps, no video. The computer is a few years old - 2002 Dell Dimension 4500, 256m ram. If it has any relevance, the ram I was putting in is a super talent 512mb stick, but I took that out immediately and it hasn't been back in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

mmk nevermind, fixed it - I'm a total idiot - when I was putting the ram sticks in, I was being too gentle in that I wasn't pushing them in far enough, so obviously the computer couldn't read them. Runs great now.

...and I'm not seeing how I can edit > delete this, so it shall die. Thank you for all of your help.
