I am just downloading the ISO for Knoppix via BitClient. I was just wondering, there are 3 files, how can I burn them all to the CD? I have only ever burned a single image to a disc before, and I'm not sure how this would work.
The files are:
KNOPPIX_V5.0.1CD-2006-06-01-EN.iso
KNOPPIX_V5.0.1CD-2006-06-01-EN.iso.md5
KNOPPIX_V5.0.1CD-2006-06-01-EN.iso.md5.asc
Thanks

Why use Bitclient when you can download it from some Linux pages? Besides they also have all the text files as to what is what so you'd get your answers there.
Because most Linux distros are being distributed on BitTorrent as a means of taking a major load off the servers...
The only file you need to worry about is the one that is an iso...the other two are for checksums to make sure there are no errors in the download.

PowerISO is the best choice. You can add and combine all of the files into one ISO file or other format of CD such as .daa, .cue and .bin.

While BitTorrent may be a safe way to get files, and this is it's intended purpose, it makes me think of things like LimeWire and Kazaa. Maybe I am a little too cautious, but I still prefer ftp.
Good Mirror:
ftp.cise.ufl.edu
/cise/ftp-mirrors0/knoppix/
Because we all know anonymous ftp servers, especially ones at universities, NEVER get compromised.... uh... Guess it's time to consider BitTorrent as a viable alternative.
Chrisling...the other two files in the torrent DO NOT need to be combined with anything. One is the md5 checksum for the iso, the other is just the md5 file in a special formatted text file...

That was my sentiments at the time of my post.
Of course mjc answered the rest...
Linux distros are one of the few things I torrent and I'll even seed them for a full cycle (1 iso worth of uploading).

Well the torrent includes the help files also, I was just posting while downloading to maybe get a better in-depth instruction on what to to.
I downloaded via torrent because as mjc said it takes stress off the servers and also supplies me with a quicker download rather than waiting ages on an overloaded server.
To me anyway the likes of Limewire and Kazaa are a whole different kettle of fish when compared to bitclients.Bitclients are a lot less of a bold way of getting material on the internet. For example within the program itself there is no option like search for audio or movie content etc.(Atleast not within the few clients I have used) You have to supply yourself with the torrent and therefore the application itself isn't in anyway "suggesting" pirated material.
Anyway thanks for the help It's just after finishing downloading so I'm off to burn.

Ok it would appear that it doesn't like my video card.
I remember reading somewhere that it doesn't like the Radeon SE's but there was a work around driver for it.Anyone know about this?
It says that the AGP bridge is detected but the card is unknown.

The MD5 check sum validates that the download was not corrupt and that the file hasn't been infected. Other stuff piggybacking on a P2P connection is a different matter.

So does anyone know anything I could do to work around the problem with my Video card?
Not off the top of my head...

Try an older version of Knoppix. Or try another distro that has a Live CD like Suse, Mepis, DSL, or Ubuntu.
I have run into the video problems before, particularly on laptops. You can sometimes get it to run but with low resolution, which is not pleasing.
The last laptop I ran Knoppix on I had to go all the way go back to Knoppix 3.2. No FF but it doesn't really matter.

I also have a Knoppix question.
Since my laptop does not have a internal CD-ROM I am planning to get a CF card and boot Knoppix from it.
CF cards are cheep these days, so I am planing to get a 2 or 4 gig card.
The additional free space on that card I would use for stroage (in Windows and Knoppix)
Will having additional files on the card cause any problems running Knoppix ?

No it shouldn't be a problem.

I just brought a new laptop (60 GB HD) with Windows XP pre-installed. I want to partition my drive and put Fedora on. I went to the Knoppix site and down loaded Knoppix_V3.6-2004-08-16-EN.iso with not problem. Used undisker to convert the ISO and then extracted it to my CDR-W. After all files were on the CD, I set my BIOS to boot from CD first, then inserted the CD but, it would not boot. Did I do something wrong?

You need to burn the ISO as an image file, do not convert it. The option is usually worded something like "burn image to disk" or similar. Converting and extracting will put it on the CD as regular files. That won't work.

After all files were on the CDYou might think so but unless you burn the image and not the files, as jlreich pointed-out, you will miss the hidden boot files and boot sectors that exist in the .iso file.
If you cant get your own software to do this then BurnCDCC (http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/utilities.html) is designed specifically for the job.
