I am having a problem with the page setup when using MS Works 6.0 spreadsheet. This just started today.

I open Page Setup; Source, Size & Orientation; and select Landscape & Letter. When I Print Preview, it gives me and "out of memeory" error, I click "OK". Then it shows the preview, but it still looks like it is in Portrait format.

When I go back to check the Page Setup, it shows Landscape & Custom. (Landscape looks like Portrait and vice versa) If I try to change to Portrait and preview it, I get the "out of memory" error, and then a message that says:

"The document and printer settings do not match. Continue anyway? The page size and orientation setting for your printer do not match the page size settings in your document"

I tried clicking "reset" in the page setup window and restarting my computer. Every time I set it to Landscape & Letter, when I go back to check it, it is Landscape & Custom. I also tried it with several different documents, including a new blank one.

This only happens in Spreadsheet, & only in Landscape. It works normally in Works Word Processor.

I would appreciate any advice.

Sounds like a part of the program has become corrupted. Other than that, does the computer run fine? What are the system specs?

If you are able to, I would suggest just reinstalling Works. That would either fix the problem or alert us to perhaps a bigger problem with the PC (unlikely).

The computer seems fine, except for running slow sometimes.

I have an identical problem which occurs only with my most recently created spreadsheet, ie., spreadsheets created in 2005 or before function normally without the memory error and the page setup conflict.

A junky workaround follows:

In page setup, select portrait. Print preview will then display in landscape and will print in landscape. Argh.

Reinstalling Works with a registry cleanup before re-installation had no effect.

The problem does not occur on another computer with identical software????

Good Luck

Try Microsoft site for bug fixes maybe they already fixed the problems you are encountering.
