I recently bought a older lcd monitor, ebay, noted in the sellers disc. he disclosed a rpoblem with the monitor. Anyway i'm getting scrolling lines and am going to try to fix it. Any ideas where i should start?

Tried the obv. power cord and interface cable...no luck.

What make/model of monitor? It might be something with refresh rate?

I did find the native resolution should be 1,280 x 1,024.

LCDs are designed to run at 60hz. I didn't know that at first, and haven't selected 60hz refresh for as long as I can remember.

Double check you're using that refresh rate. Dunno if higher frequencies can cause any sort of damage, but they could potentially cause what you're describing.

This is weird- rolling lines are usually due to the scanning, which should not occur on LCDs.
The signal should be converted at the monitor, so if the refresh rate change doesn't affect things, could it be that the interlacing is not being filtered correctly by the monitors circuitry?

I'd start looking for a loose or broken ground connection and sources of RFI....

CHecked the refresh rate and it is indeed at 60 hz by default... Any ideas where i might get a schematic for that monitor?

Checked the ground coming in and out of the monitor and in a few places on a few different boards and all seemed to check out well.
