For what region?

In Canada and US, I would recommend TigerDirect.ca (http://www.tigerdirect.ca), TigerDirect.com (http://www.tigerdirect.com), NCIX.com (http://www.ncix.com), and NewEgg.com (http://www.newegg.com). I have had good experiences with all.

While there are some fans of TigerDirect, I suggest that you consider them to be similar to the plague and treat them accordingly...

You can go here to get reasonably good ratings for online vendors...

Budfred, I wish you would quit holding back and tell us what you really think. :p

Seriously though, I didn't realize TigerDirect was rated so poorly. More importantly to me is the fact that their ratings have been going downhill over the last six months. For such a low vendor rating, I would at least hope to see a higher number for Pricing than the competition. Looks like your likening to the plague was spot on.

Newegg.com
Six-Month Rating: 9.75 / 10
8.17 Pricing of Products and Services
9.40 Likelihood of Future Purchases
8.98 Shipping and Packaging
9.43 Customer Service
9.19 Return or Replacement

Tiger Direct
Six-Month Rating: 4.83 / 10
6.36 Pricing of Products and Services
4.30 Likelihood of Future Purchases
6.29 Shipping and Packaging
2.99 Customer Service
3.21 Return or Replacement

I had a very unpleasant experience with TigerDirect a couple of years ago and every time that I have looked they have had miserable ratings... It appears that they may be getting worse, but I don't believe they have ever been good... I am impressed that they have been able to stay in business, but I think that falls into the same category as why phishing works...

My personal preferences are Newegg and a couple of small vendors that deal in specialty areas. I have, on occasion, done business with Tigerdirect, but it has usually been on item 'specials' and with things that I'd hoped (and were) hard to screw up on their end.

Hehe... I must be lucky with TigerDirect then!

I buy most of my parts at Tiger, and have had no problems whatsoever! In fact, over the years, I've probably put in a good 20 to 25 orders with them. As far as my experience has been, they have always been good at replacing anything defective, and have bent over backwards to accommodate my needs.

NCIX has also been very good to me. They too have bent over backwards to fulfill an order.

Tiger Direct CA is rumoured to be much better than Tiger Direct US. However, I would sooner put in a vote for Zip Zoom Fly (formerly Google Gear) because I have dealt with them before in limited but positive experiences.
