I want to build a computer for gamming and I'm considering a multiprocessor mobo. Can anyone tell me the merits of a multiprocessor mobo versis a single processor running at twice the speed? Also, considering a limited budget, which components should I spend the most money on, and which operating system is best for gamming on a multiprocessor computer? Thanks,,, Jimmysee60
First off I don't think that there are any games that are going to really beable to take advantage of the dual processors......
Secondly you will need an operating system that will be able to use them, that means Win2000, XP pro, or some versions of Linux (and since there aren't a whole lot of games for Linux...looks like 2k or XP pro....).
Not that mp systems aren't nice, they are, but as being the ultimate in gaming rigs, they don't offer any real advantages.....
