hi i recently was given a old but working computer but the sound does not work... i reformatted the whole thing and wiped it clean and i installed the real teak audio 97 drivers but it doesnt work... i have no sound what so ever im 100% sure my speakers work i pluged them into my cd player and it worked fine...
please help =/

Go into BIOS, and check for an option to enable/disable the onboard sound. If you find it, then make sure it's enabled.
If that does not work, or there's no onboard sound item, then the onboard audio adapter may be bad. See if installing a known working PCI sound card helps.
