I am building a pc using an older MSI MS-6163 Pro Motherboard w/ an Intel Pentium 3 550MHz Slot 1 CPU. There are two serial ports and no VGA Monitor Ports. I bought a video card for it (Volari V3 @ 128MB) and pluged it in to my AGP slot and switched on the computer. There was no display, but the monitor was getting a signal.ALL the parts are in good, working condition. I am aware that my motherboard has onboard video but no VGA Port. Apparently, the two video systems 'clash' and in result that niether of them work. I do get a series of beep codes that mean display problem. Is there a switch for the motherboard that turns the onboard video off?

If you've got onboard video, then you've got a VGA port on the mobo. Check those serial ports again - I'm willing to bet one of them is a VGA port.

The vid card you got is too new for that system. The Volari V3's are likely to be AGP 4x/8x cards. I doubt it will work flawlessly on an old Slot 1 system. I'm surprised it even fit in the slot.
