Was wondering if anyone knows of some good shareware or inexpensive software that compares with Universal Imaging Utility? Its an imaging program that claims to have all the drivers for most hardware on a CD so that you can create an image for one DESLL desktop/notebook and it will install cleanly on a HP hardware. the trouble with UIU is that it costs $15 per computer you load the image on and that makes it really expensive.

Last warning.

The software is said to fix the Hardware Abstaction Layer to allow a universal image that can be used on many brands of hardware across an enterprise. So it is an extra cost add-on for imaging software like Ghost or Acronis TI.

Giving this a second chance per PMs with the poster, the type of software being discussed is one that allows loading Windows images onto multiple branded hardware from a master image. The poster says did not intend to pitch a specific product, just the type of software desired.
