I have posted a HJT Log file below. My computer has been experiencing some strange things recently. Virus scans have come up clean as well as Spybot S & D. I have found that certain images on my computer related to certain applications have changed. Possible problems. Additionally, strange internet behavior while using Firefox 2.0 (dealing with cookies)

The FF 2 cookie thing my just be that it handles cookies differently, I haven't played around with it enough to know for sure...but can you go into more details about that problem?

The image problem...are you talking the icons? or something else?

When I load a certain program (DrScheme in particular)...the loading screen used to be a picture of something, but recently this loading screen now has different colors.

The pic of the loading screen shows an icon of a blue, red, and white Lambda sign, which can be seen here:

http://download.plt-scheme.org/drscheme/

Now, the loading screen displays completely different colors. Firy orange and yellow all around. I made no changes to my computer. (Note: I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the DrScheme program numerous times.)

(Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, I noticed this change in colors shortly after I installed Spybot S&D 1.4.) Though I doubt this would have anything to do with it.

Additionally, my download screens for Firefox 2.0 now have a completely different appearance, which happened to occur overnight. This bothers me. It's as if my settings have been changed somehow.

Other strange behavior include when I log in to a password protected website. If I refresh the page, sometimes it prompts me again to enter my password, telling me I am not logged in, whereas a second refresh of the page will resolve the problem without requiring me to re-enter my password. Other times, refreshing the page will yield the correct website, but the webpage will display no information (almost a completely blank webpage); information that should be there. This information is in plain text and should not depend on certain plugins or apps or cookies to be displayed properly.

Edit: Overall, the reason I am worried is because most of these changes seemed to occur overnight, without any reason. No hardware/software changes or anything of that sort.

A couple of those behaviors are definitely FF2.0 related...especially if you've added anything like the NoScript extension. I've always had problems with FF and cookies for certain sites. It isn't really Firefox's fault, but rather the sites fault for using coding that is very IE specific.

Overall, I'd say post a HijackThis log...check to see if any of the extra protections in SpyBot have been enabled and manually double check your FireFox settings, because I have had to reset some after EVERY update (even though, the particular settings weren't supposed to change). Also make sure you are running a 2.0 compliant theme and check to see if any of your extensions need to be updated.

Make sure that none of your software isn't set to auto-update, unless you have intentionally set it or allowed it.

Well, I updated to Firefox 2.0 and everything seemed to work just fine. Then all of a sudden out of the blue, some of the things I mentioned were changed.

I have checked Spybot and all of the extra protections have been enabled. Are the Firefox settings you are referring to dealing with settings in general, or security settings? I am also using the default Firefox theme/skin, so it is compliant. All of my extensions are also up-to-date.
