New Program Install

I just installed a new program (Adobe Premier 2.0 pro. Everytime I try to launch it, it goes part way and then my computer goes to a blank screen. The only way I can restart is by pulling the power plug out. I was thinking it might be a software conflict so I deleted my Norton's Anti Virus and another program called Spy Sweeper but the problem still exsist. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is here? Iv'e tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program but it still crashes.

I'm running this on a Toshiba laptop with Windows XP Media Center.

Does your laptop meet the minimum requirements?

Are you running a bunch of programs in the background, perhaps loading at startup?

How much memory is in this notebook?

I typed "msconfig" in the run box and disabled everything in there. It's has 512 mb of ram.
