My uncle's friend must have caught wind of the wonderful work we did on my uncle's laptop, as he wants us to have a look at this one now.:)

anyway he is complaining of a very long start up time.And the laptop running slow as a whole.(which it is) He also said he had gotten e-mails from two companies saying he had sent them mass amounts of e-mails.
And he was told he may have a proxy installed, and he said he never installed anything like that.

Ok well I went ahead and cleaned the machine myself.
He wanted the laptop back for work so I had to move on myself.

I don't see any problems... Of course, HJT doesn't see everything these days, so you may want to do some other scans if you haven't already...

Also, is there a firewall on there??

No there isn't.I'm not sure if he would be able to handle a firewall as he isn't on computers very long.Could you compare the first HJT log with the one I posted last and tell me if I did right by what you think?

The only thing showing in those logs that looks really dubious is that proxy... I don't see any other clear problems...

If you install Kerio in the simple mode, he won't even know it is there after it stops nagging him to buy it... Running without a firewall means that he will probably get infected again...

There was some of the Ebates_MoeMoney junk on there too but it was only traces.And a lot of the scans I ran removed a lot of other items also.
I will recommend the firewall to him and see what he thinks.
