I have heard about goggle.com and how it can potentially destroy a computer if someone were to accidentally type in goggle DOT com instead of google DOT com.
A friend of mine sent me a link, with the URL leading to goggle DOT com, as a practical joke. Unknowingly, I clicked it and I immediately realized what he had sent me; thus I immediately closed the window. I laughed it off, but after awhile I began worrying; I began to think "hmm I saw a lot of ads when I clicked the link..."
Should I worry about this? I have run a virus scan and Spybot S&D...both came up clean. Should I post a HJT log just to make sure?
Edit: the browser I was using when I clicked the link was Firefox 2.0. I have also installed NoScript (the most up-to-date version.)
I have Windows XP SP2 fully patched, with ZoneAlarm firewall installed. I am connected through a college network, meaning I have no router.

First, it is unlikely to "destroy" a computer, but it might infect it... Second, I would reconsider the "friend" status of that person... Third, it would probably be a good idea to post a HJT to see if anything did get in, but you are probably okay since you had FF with NoScript...

Your log looks okay... If your friend believes that it could "destroy" your computer, how is it that he didn't think it would cause harm??
There are deeper scans you can run if you want to check further... let me know...
Goggle is now a page for a somewhat 'shady' registry cleaner...

Did the link come from Instant Messenger? There is a virus that can compromise it and send dangerous links to everyone on the victim's buddy list. I recommend using a safer messenger client like GAIM (http://gaim.sourceforge.net/).
At the very least, copy and paste urls into your browser rather than clicking them in the IM window.

Thanks for the responses everybody.
My friend showed me a video on YouTube about someone visiting <goggle DOT com> on an unprotected laptop (I think it was unprotected.) The video illustrated how it could do lots of damage to one's computer. Since he knew my computer was 'protected', I suppose he was thinking it would be okay. But being the big worrier that I am, I felt like something had gotten onto my computer.
The link was received on Trillian-AIM.
Yes, I am usually very careful with verifying where the URL actually goes to by letting my mouse hover over the link first. However, my friend had sent me several links in previous days, all of which were unclickable (and thus I had to copy paste)...I suppose I got careless, or unlucky...or perhaps both...when he sent me a clickable link leading to the URL goggle.
Budfred: I would very much like to know about these deeper scans that I can run. Though if you believe that nothing harmful got onto my computer, then I suppose I won't have to run those tests.

Budfred: I would very much like to know about these deeper scans that I can run. Though if you believe that nothing harmful got onto my computer, then I suppose I won't have to run those tests.I can't say that I believe that, I can only say that your log looks clean and you used reasonable protection... To check further...
* Click here (http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols3.shtml) to use the F-Secure Online Scanner
It's explained there with images how to allow the ActiveX to start the scan, so read that first.
Then click the F-Secure Online Scanner Next Generation Beta link.
Once the ActiveX is installed, you should accept the License terms by clicking OK below to start the scan.
Click the Full System Scan button.
It will start to download scanner components and databases. This can take a while.
The main scan will start.
Once the scan finished scanning, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button
It could be possible that your firewall gives an alert - allow it, because that's a connection you establish to submit infected files to F-Secure.
The cleaning can take a while, so please be patient.
Then click the Show report button and copy and paste what's present under results in your next reply.
and...
* Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe
Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/check.gif
If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:
http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/move.gif
This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
Close Dr.Web Cureit.
Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply.
and also AVG AS (Ewido)...
Please download, install, and update Ewido anti-spyware (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/)
Load Ewido and then click the Update tab at the top. Under Manual Update click Start update.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Close ewido. Do not run it yet.
Please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. To boot into Safe Mode, please restart your computer. Tap F8 before Windows loads. Select Safe Mode on the screen that appears.
In Safe Mode, load Ewido and click on the Scanner tab at the top. Click the "Settings" tab and then change the recommended action to Quarantine and click Automatically generate report after every scan. Click back to the "Scan" tab and then click on Complete System Scan. This scan can take quite a while to run, so be prepared.
Ewido will list any infections found on the left hand side. When the scan has finished, it will automatically set the recommended action. Click the Apply all actions button. Ewido will display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.
Click on "Save Report", then "Save Report As". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again (like on the Desktop).
Restart back into Normal Mode.
Post each of the logs to see if anything showed up...
