MS has announced November 30th as the release date for corporate customers for Vista, and January for home users:

Another thing is that MS has settled an argument with Novell about interoperability between MS and Linux apps, especially Office:

I'm really not fussed. XP cost so much to buy, I don't want to spend another few hundered on another OS, that probably won't be any different. I've not seen anything that would actually compel me to buy it. None of the features really seem that great.

Yeah, I heard about this agreement yesterday on the way home from work. The idea that Microsoft Corp and Novell (Suse Linux) would work toward interoperability in a corporate setting to the customer's benefit is not what you expect from two competing software vendors.
