I recently installed a Athlon TB 1 GHz on
my machine and the cooling fan(Y.S.Tech 60x60x25 ultra high speed)
does a good
job of keeping the CPU cool, but it makes
so much noise that it's driving me up a wall.
Can anyone recommend a quieter fan that will
keep my CPU cool. Many thanks

Vantec and CoolerMaster make some good HSFs that are AMD recommended, and for the most part, are a lot quieter than the Delta and Y.S. Tech fans.

they make really quiet PSU fans, CPU fans and even a case to keep your hard drive quiet. there's info on the site to see if its compatible with your hardware and instruction, they also have a 1 month return policy.

I bought the PSU fan, but then I could hear my CPU fan so I bought that. My PC's virtually silent except for the hard drive. I've ordered the silentdrive case now, but will have to see if its compatible.

So far so good with them, I installed the CPU fan without taking out the motherboard as they reccommended, but I think it would have been better taking the motherboard out first.

You need the AMD radial fan(large) which should work with Athlon socket A up to 1.3 Ghz
