Screensaver not turning on!!

I am having a problem with the screensaver, for some reason it won't turn on. I can't seem to find why this is happening, any suggestions?

Did you save a new screensaver?
Did you clicked on the Apply button ?
And the time settings also, try setting time for 1 minute and then check.

Do you have any DVD viewing applications installed? I have seen a few that seem to disable the screen saver.

karthik, I didn't save a new screensaver and didn't change anyother settings. I have tried different settings and still nothing happens.
Erik, I do have DVD viewing apps so I will check this out tonight, but how will I know, or what do I need to look for in the DVD app? Can't seem to work this one out. Thanks for your both replies.

Well for me I tracked it down to that and didn't really need it so I just uninstalled it.:D Probably doesn't help you much though.

I would look around in the options of the application for a setting that disables screen saver or similiar.

I've got windows XP and a gateway computer - While I can download screensavers, and it shows successful and, I can see them in preview - they won't activate. the apply button is greyed out. so I changed the timing from 10 to 2 minutes - the apply butto came back on, but still nothing actually comes up on my desktop when i hit apply. Any ideas? I asked lots of folks.
