Have been out of the loop for a while.

What gives the most bang for the buck?

A 1Gig Duron or a 1Gig T-Bird?

Thanks

Durons are the budget end of the AMD processor line. They have a 64Kb L2 cache whereas the Athlon has a 256Kb L2 cache. Go with the T-Bird.

Thanks for the response BB66.

I was wondering though, if the Duron's at that speed have the newer core, and if it would be be better to get the better core speed as opposed to more cache?

Thanks

The duron's are the same core as the T-birds { you have been out awhile haven't you http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif ?! } , the cache is what makes the diff in their performance.

The newest Athlon's are called XP's ( the Morgan's have replaced the Duron's as the budget line ) and they are a faster CPU architecture than the T-bird's.

Check out the spec's here-AMD (http://www.amd.com)

Yeah, I kinda lost it about a year ago.

I thought that the Tbird core was the same as the Duron but didn't want to make that mistake.

I could have looked on AMD site, but it has been a while since I posted anything here and the AMD site can be not so user friendly.

So I decided to ask instead of look, but thanks for the info.

Once again, Thanks gth
