I just installed a fresh new copy of win xp on my desktop. getting the same problems with game play. System just reboots itself when im in middle of dog fight.

I purchased a new ge-force 7300 512mb video card, and still getting same results, only this time, not in a dog-fight, but when I'm just docking to a space station.

I ran a chk disk and no problems were found. Put my old video card back in, with same results.

This only started happening when I installed a fresh copy of win xp onto my system. It's all validated with windows genuine validation tool, all updates installed.

I'm thinking it may be my mcAfee virus software I installed with new os system. Just a thought. Will check my power supply when I get home.

Best to begin a thread as you did and reference a similar problem by linking...that way people can keep their responses directed specifically to your problem...

Hello all, I just joined today and need some input. I've just installed a fresh validated copy of winxp pro, new ge-force 7300 512mb pci e video card, running on a p4 3.0, 800mhz fsb, 1 gig ram.

Now my system worked just fine until I began play eve-online on it. I have no problems playing on my dell laptop, but my custom built desktop which is described above crashes each time I get into a dog fight, or maybe just when docking at a space station.

My event log dosen't tell me anything about the crash (system actually reboots itself after crashing).

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Furthermore: can anyone recommend a good site where I can do an indepth system check? I've tried pc connection, but it tends to be inaccurrate sometimes.

XP by default usually reboots instead of locking.

That said, it still usually leaves some clue in the event log. Unless the problem is heat/power related. If possible, right after an event, look at the system temps (check in the BIOS, if possible).
