Dear Sir/Madam,

I am running a cyber café (Internet Browsing Center). I am planning to upgrade my existing systems and transform the cyber café to exclusive ‘Gaming Center’.

To this end, I would like your expertise in assisting and guiding me to make the right choice for completely upgrading my computer systems so they can be excellent systems to play any demanding games (eg.Quake III) at the same time the total upgradation cost is reasonably economical.

The configuration of my existing PCs is given as below –
SIERA (SIS) Motherboard / Celeron 466 MHz/128KB Cache / 64 MB SDRAM / 4.3 GB ULTRA DMA ATA – 33 EIDE HDD

I shall remain grateful for all and any suggestion received from your end. My email ID is given below: -

Welcome accom

Please don't shoot the messenger. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif

Upgrade systems... "demanding games"... reasonably economical.

To handle this mission properly, an upgrade of your present system
would be almost total. Use the PC case itself and start over.

To try to get by cheaply would cause entirely too much grief later on.

How many PC's are you using in your Cyber Cafe?

Cheers.

Welcome to them forums accom. Anyways, ranchdog be right. You need much more than what you've currently got. Thing is though, it may not be as expensive as you might think...if you can afford to go hardcore with geforce3's, then it may be a good investment. If not, you can get some of the geforce2's (like the mx400), your processor should be at least 700+ (amd chips at this range are dirt cheap) and ram is not really expensive. You should have more space in your HD's but I guess 4 gigs is ok since it's not like people are downloading movies and music. This configuration shouldn't cost much and should run the popular net cafe games. The ones I've seen often are Counter Strike (those things are like Honda Civics), Diablo, QIII, Unreal Tournament. I've got a system similar to the one I've suggested and I play the latest games with ALMOST no slowdowns. (wolfenstein chugs when there are a TON of people and so does UT, but these are with everything on max detail and 1024 resolution)I presume monitors are already in your possesion (and them things are probably the single most expensive things that you actually NEED). Beware though newer games slated to come out soon (Doom III, Unreal 2) look like they could explode anything less that a geforce3 so, like ranchdog said, trying to run a system like this for a long time can cause grief. On the other hand, Counter Strike has been around for what? 3-4 years? And people still play that....ALOT. So you may be able to run cheaper systems for a decent amount of time and let your revenue build up for a true hardcore upgrade.

Hey looks like yr current thing needs a total makeover..
upgradation to a p4 is always a good idea and wont be very costly if u buy a third party motherboard from company like HIS or tomato.
u can go in for 1.6 ghz p4 system with a third party motherboard.the motherboard includes intel 845 graphics chipset and onboard soundcard.the following :motherboard with chipset and soundcard + processor costs around Rs 14000.intel 845 chipset is agp technology based so no need for a new agp card.u will have to upgrade yr current cabinet to atx12 so that a p4 system works.u can change yr hdd to 20 gb for around 4-5 thousand rupees.also u need to increase the ram to anywhere between 256mb to 512 mb.I recommend 512 mb ram.if u go in for third party motherboard u end up saving on the agp and sound card.also u save some 6-7 grand.only disadvantage is that u have to use pc-133 sdram instead of the RDram for p4.if u think this upgrade is expensive then go in for 1ghz p3 which will cost lesser.the price diff wont be that much though.lots of multiplayer games will work properly on this server.
