I used a power supply calculater and calculated that i need about 350 watts. Which power supply would you recommend between the two. I am not really going to use sata connectors mainly i am going to have 4-6 IDE HDs hoocked up to it and a dvd writer.... i want to spend under 50 and the two ive kind of narrowed it down to are

out of the 2 i would say the thermal take one - reason being its 450 Watts.

That calculator wont be 100% accurate and your system might need slightly more than 350W causing problems.

Apart from that, the more watts your powersupply can take, the less load it has to deal with on systems like yours.

If you went for a 500W supply on a 350 watt system, you should find that this supply gives you a good life, as its not being strained if you get me.

People correct me if im wrong, thats what ive been told and ive always stuck by it... had my 500 powersupply for a LONG while now!

Remember that the usual figures given for power consumption are the running powers. A hard drive can take at least twice as much at startup. if you have 6 drives, that means a fair few more watts. You don't want to run a power supply at full power if it can be avoided. the larger of the two you linked to would be the best.
