Usually we avoid Dell because many of us here have had bad experiences with them.
I would recommend Toshiba, Acer, or Gateway as far as laptops go.

Look at These (http://shopper.cnet.com/4144-5_9-0.html?query=Acer+Travelmate&tag=srch&searchType=sh)
Laptops are great if you are travelling a lot and want to have access to everything on the road. Otherwise a desktop computer will be easier to use and cheaper.
IBM (Lenovo) make some really nice laptops.

for laptop processor, AMD or Intel Better ?
I am an AMD fan, but Intel has been the undisputed king of laptop processors for quite a few years. It isn't just about the processor really, it's about the whole platform. Intel has certain requirements for anything with the "Centrino" name on it. Everything is built specifically with mobile computing in mind.
Look for a laptop with either an Intel Core Solo or Core Duo processor.
I also recommend these three brands.
Any order:
Lenovo (IBM)
Toshiba
Acer

Do you have a link for that model? I can't seem to find any good info on it.
I do think Acer has some of the best bang for the buck machines though. I have a customer that is wanting 4 laptops and comparing to other brands you just can't beat Acer with what they give you for the money.

Those are pretty dang good specs.
Only thing I could say is the screen could be bigger, but still it's a very good machine. :)
Actually if all you are going to use it for is to study it's more machine than you need. But If the price is good it will last you a long time without any need to upgrade it.
