1. purchasing DDR RAM -- does this mean you have to also get a 3d card thats DDR-Compatible?

2. whats this thing of "tualatine motherboards?" ive never heard of it until the guy at the computer shop told me that i should get one of those... thank you!

You don't need a ddr video card to use ddr ram, or vice versa, they are totally separate.

Tualatin is the name of the new celeron core, which was originally intended to be a Pentium 3. If you're going to buy a celeron, then you should definitely get a tualatin.
