power suply problem

i have a hp pavillion dx 2000
i upgrade a 512 mb ram.
after the upgrade i can't turn on the pc.
i think there's a problem with the power suply.
need some help!!!

Remove the new RAM and see if it will boot.

If it does, then try just the new RAM...

If it still boots, then it likely that the new and old RAM don't mix.

If it boots with old but not the new, then the new RAM isn't compatible or is faulty.
