I have a problem. need help with what kind of hard disk drive i should replace my Quantum BigFoot TS12.7A(pm) with. my computer is telling me mine is failing. .please help me.

Need a little more to go on than that.....like what kind of system do you have (CPU, age, memory, etc), OS version, size of the drive and whether you want a larger one....

hey first thanks for the quick reply. heres is everything. its a Hewlett Packard 8496. it has a Pentium3 500Mhz 512 cache, it o/s is windows 98 it has 128mb of memory & the hard drive has 8455mb . i dont really know how old it is but it cant be older than 5 years old. thanks again for all your help.

Even though your BIOS will probably not recognize HD's larger than 8GB's-with the provided Drive Overlay software in a new HD purchase you can put any size drive you wish; from 20GB's up to 120 GB's should you choose.

My recommendation would be for a 30-40 GB size, they have pretty much become standard and it should fullfill all your storage requirements.

Yep...agree with iisbob, just about any size but the 40 gig range seems to be the best price area right now, and I would go with a 7200rpm drive....
