I'm trying to do a slideshow for my wedding.
I recently uninstalled limewire and i kept getting a pop up from the uninstaller, then I restarted the computer and it says I have a bad boot.ini restarting with windows (or something like that). I dont know what to do. the limewire thing still pops up and i think it is using the regedit (i saw advice to use regedit in another forum) but it doesnt matter I cant open it. Can I fix this?
Can I open windows from some memory from the day before or something?

I'm in desparate need of help. But also sleep. So... I will be heading to bed now. If anyone can help me fix this issue without reinstalling my whole system that would be great.
THanks

I don't know limewire, but I would offer these suggestions:
Go to the limewire forum and see what they they to say. click here http://www.limewire.org/forum/
Do you have another machine that you can put your hard drive into?
How about re installiing limewire?
good luck.

Post a thread in the "Applications and Security" section of these forums [PC Guide] asking to have your software checked for infection.
Link these 2 threads each to the other.
Open your c:\boot.ini file with notepad and copy and paste the contained text here using code tags around the text [highlight the text and click # above the "Advanced" posting window].

I cant open my boot.ini at all. I'm lost, I have this posted in 3 forums and no one can seem to help. I guess I'll just have to take it to the geek squad or something.

Is your C: partition NTFS or FAT[32]?
The EBCD [linked below] can only read NTFS, and can both read & write to FAT[32].
You could use an EBCD ["Emergency Boot CD"] to do the following [subject to the above limitations]...
1. Use the "File Manager" [item 2 on 1st menu] to display the contents of your C: partition/drive and navigate to the boot.ini file and view its content [you could edit it here if you knew which changes to make].
2. Use the "Create NT/2000/XP Boot Floppy" program to make a boot floppy [includes generic copies of boot.ini, ntdetect.com, ntldr], and boot the PC with that in the FDD.
If that gets you into Windows OK, you could come back out, boot the EBCD, use "File Manager" to...
a. Delete [or rename] the old boot.ini [also ntdetect.com, ntldr].
b. Copy the new [and working] boot.ini [also ntdetect.com, ntldr] off the floppy to C:\
Then reboot and load Windows off the HDD with those new file copies in place.
A. How to make a free “Smart Boot Manager” floppy
http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=41498
This makes it easier to boot a chosen drive [particularly the one holding the EBCD].
B. How to make a free EBCD bootable CD
http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=41485
This has a number of useful utilities included including "Image" [for DOS, by Terabyte] & "File Manager".

and it says I have a bad boot.ini restarting with windows (or something like that)
You may or may not hava a bad boot.ini but the exact text of the message could be helpful.
Can I open windows from some memory from the day before or something?
Try booting to Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key during start-up. If you can get into Safe Mode, (a) let us know and (b) you may get an option to use System Restore.
If you have an installation CD (not a restore CD or partition) then you could install an additional (aka parallel) installation into the same directory as Windows but into a new Windows folder, say called by you Windows1, as a temporary measure to get you up and running again.
