I hope this isn't actually off-topic, but here goes. We have 2 wireless networks which are slightly overlapping, but they're on the same channel. The real problem is that I can't access the configuration page for either device in order to change channels. (One uses a Netgear WPN802 Access Point, the other a Netgear WGBX102 powerline bridge) I am able to get the configuration page for the router (Netgear WPNT834), however. For the other 2, I get a "connection timed out, server stopped responding" message. I tried Firefox, IE, and Safari. Would anyone have any idea what else I could try?
Thank you in advance!

If you can allow the time for it, try powering down one of the devices before trying to access the config page...

Just a thought, are you wired to access the pages or wireless?
A common sense security step is to turn off wireless access to the wireless hardware's configuration page. Sometimes you have to use a crossover cable and a laptop to set these up.

Sigh. I tried powering down both devices, and tried to get them from a wired computer; no go. The accesspoint is on the same network as the wired computers. The powerline thing is on a different one. I can't get either. I was able to get the WPN802 a couple of days ago, but when I tried to save the changes it lost the connection and I never could get it back.
I don't understand very much about this, but do access points get an IP address? We're set up to assign IP addresses automatically. I wonder what the benefit is with that (automatic DHCP), since the numbers seem to change from time to time, so it's hard to figure out what's what. (Please excuse my ignorance.)
Any other ideas? I may have to call Netgear. Big heavy sigh. They're nice enough, and I guess smart enough, but we don't speak the same language!
I just thought of this. Does it mean anything that I can't ping any of the computers here? If I ping to a name, it tells me the IP number, but "request timed out". That's for all 3 wired and one wireless currently turned on. Would this have something to do with the TrendMicro firewall?
Thanks much!

You can try going through the device's reset procedure...it can either be holding the reset button for an extended time or power cycling while it is held in or...the procedure should be listed in the manual.

Still no success. Disabled the firewall, too. Thanks very much for answering, I think this problem is going to have to wait a day or so until I have some time free.

Well, I finally found the configuration page for the Access Point. The IP address had changed. I changed the channel and the overlap isn't causing any more problems.
Thanks to all for your help!
