So I am looking at what I thought was an SATA drive, but now it is clear that it is an "ULTRA ATA 100." But it comes with a "Serial ATA interface cable."

I have two ATA drives in my PC now and I want to get another drive. Since the Mobo is SATA ready I figured I would get an SATA drive. But I do not want something like this do I. It's not a true SATA?

BTW - it's $90 for 300 GB.

Thanks!

If you ordered and paid for an SATA HD, but got an PATA instead, then either take it back or return it for the SATA unit.

Explain this in more detail. I'm not aware of any PATA/SATA hybrid hard drives. Is the cable really a SATA cable?

Thanks, spahalline. The guy advertised it wrong. I've concluded that it's not an SATA drive. After I looked into it, the seller changed his ad - Thanks for the help folks!
